Schools

For Schools

Our school performances are aimed at KS1, 2 & 3 children in order to encourage discussion of topics that our music brings up for them.

While Stripes grew from discussions with primary school teachers looking for new ways to encourage collaborative work and inclusive play, the show has blossomed into a broader exploration of what it means to be an individual and find your own voice while still also being part of a group.

What we offer

Over the course of an hour, we provide:

A group warm up

To get children and teachers ready to watch, listen, and sing

Performance of Stripes

A performance of music and physical drama exploring what it means to be who you are

Post-performance discussion

Inviting children to reflect on what they’ve seen, facilitated by Hold the Drama

We will also leave your school with a teachers’ pack to support ongoing discussions about both the music and the emotions in classrooms:

Digital Stripes

In 2020, we teamed up with Unexplored Films to put together Digital Stripes, a filmed performance of the show framed with a live and interactive Zoom meeting with some of the Hold the Drama team.
